Medical Facilities

 

The Directorate of Health Culture and Sports has been established to meet the nutrition, accommodation, health, sports, cultural and other social needs of the students.

Within this context, health examination, analysis, outpatient treatment, psychological counselling and guidance services are implemented in Medical Centre operating in the body of Directorate of Health Culture and Sports to solve the students’ physical and psychological health problems.

Considering the different campuses of the university, as Medical Centre being in main campus in Goztepe, there are 32 policlinics, 1 emergency service and 1 laboratory in Goztepe, Haydarpasa, Baglarbasi, Acibadem, Nisantasi, Bahcelievler and Anadolu Hisari campuses. There are 12 doctors, 3 dentists, 2 psychologists, 1 pharmacist, 11 nurses and 1 technician working in these facilities.

In the policlinics, especially preventive treatments, outpatient diagnosis and treatments are done and when necessary patients are transferred to Marmara University Hospital or Dentistry Faculty.


Another important medical facility is Marmara University Hospital. It was established in 1986. In addition to health examination, diagnosis, treatment, observation and rehabilitation services, it provides research and application opportunities to medical students.

 

Marmara University Hospital, with its 2 emergency services, 3 intensive care units, haemodialysis, bone marrow transplantation, outpatient treatment units and 386 bed capacity, it serves 200,000 patients per year.
